CONSTRUCTION-SKATEBOARD/PARTY SCENE

Skateboard scene

I personally believe that the construction of the skateboarding scene was well thought out in terms of location, camera angles and capturing the pure essence of gritty urban life, mainly because of the graffiti coated environment. We have a range of different camera angles ranging from establishing shots to extreme close up of the subjects face, which when edited will give it a professional edge and quality.

One problem we have however, is that it doesn't fit into our narrative well, due to the main character not being in any of the shots, therefore not being made the main focus. One step around this would be too re-shoot this scene, and include familiar characters to repeat this smooth narrative shown throughout the rest of the music video. Overall, some footage can be used and this has been another step in the right direction for our group.
Party scene

The 'party scene' shown in the photo above conveys a strong message of friends getting together and enjoying one and others company, as all teenagers do. The majority of filming is done through handheld shots to put the audience almost into the party scene and gives them a taste of the fast movement and fun they're all having. The party scene conveys a strong message of friends being together for their last time.

In contrast to this the only problem we had to overcome was the dim lighting at the location we were shooting. the dim lighting gave the footage a slight grainy effect that might work against the clean cut, dynamic and smooth footage we have already got and edited together.
